### How long is the tour?

Summer Valley & Forest Hike: approximately 3.75 hours hiking and 1.25 hour traveling to and from area. Alpine Classic Trek: approximately 4 hours hiking and 1 hour traveling to and from area. Flora & Fauna Nature Walk: approximately 2 hours hiking and 1 hour traveling to and from area.

### What's the distance and elevation?

Summer Valley & Forest Hike: 5 miles and 500 feet (or 50 flights of stairs)  
Alpine Classic Trek: 5 miles and 2,000 feet (or 200 flights of stairs)  
Flora & Fauna Nature Walk: 2 miles and 200 feet (or 20 flights of stairs)

### Is the tour/activity appropriate for children?

Summer Valley & Forest Hike: Suitable for ages 8+  
Alpine Classic Trek: Suitable for ages 10+  
Flora & Fauna Nature Walk: Suitable for ages 4+

### Are there any physical/health/etc. restrictions on these tours?

The Alpine Classic Trek requires at least a small amount of hiking experience and good physical condition. Summer Valley & Forest Hike requires ability to walk at least 6 miles on flat pavement or 5 miles on uneven terrain over 4 hours, balance well, and comfort with slippery conditions using micro spikes. Alpine Classic Trek requires ability to walk at least 3 miles on flat pavement or 2 miles on uneven terrain over 2 hours. Flora & Fauna Nature Walk requires ability to walk at least 8 miles on flat pavement or 5 miles on uneven terrain over 4 hours, and easily climb many flights of stairs. Trails are steep and hilly. Not recommended for those with cardiac, respiratory issues or severe joint issues.

### What’s included in the tours?

Pre-packed snack from Kat’s Epic Trail Bites and shuttle from Egan Center on 5th Ave in Downtown Anchorage. Day packs and trekking poles available upon request.

### Where do the tours depart and where will we go?

Tours depart from Egan Center on 5th Ave in Downtown Anchorage, or optionally at the trailhead. Arrive 10 minutes prior. Masks required in shuttle. Hikes are in Chugach State Park, with Valley & Forest hike through Eagle River Nature Center and Barbara Falls, Alpine Classic Trek on Rendezvous Ridge or Mile High Ridge, and nature walks on Glen Alps.

### What should we wear?

Avoid cotton. Wear merino wool or synthetic materials like spandex or polyester that wick moisture and keep warm when wet. Wear comfortable hiking shoes. Bring sunblock.

### Is there anything we shouldn't bring for the trip?

No firearms allowed, including in transport vehicles. Drones prohibited in Chugach State Park.

### Is parking available near the tour departure point?

Yes, many spaces in Downtown Anchorage and Diamond Parking garage.
