## FAQs

### What do I need to know about the giant sequoias hike?

The hike is only available when trail conditions are safe—usually from April to October. The hike is a 2-mile round trip on a paved trail with a steep incline, so those with respiratory issues or not used to strenuous exercise can skip the hike and wait at the outdoor seating at Tuolumne Grove stop.

### When is the best time of year to visit Yosemite Valley?

Each season in Yosemite Valley offers an advantage—summer for sunny and warm hikes, fall for peace and solitude, winter for the beautiful blanket of snow, and spring features the peak of the annual waterfall show.

### What should I bring with me on tour?

You'll spend approximately 4–5 hours outdoors in nature, so it's best to dress in layers and wear comfortable shoes or hiking sandals. Bring a light water-resistant jacket, camera or phone, 1-liter water bottle, hat, sunscreen, sturdy umbrella (when there's possible rain), and some cash or credit card for meals, snacks and souvenirs.

### Are meals included and can I buy or bring my own?

Meals are not included in this tour, but there will be a stop halfway to and from Yosemite so you can buy food and beverages. There are also a few onsite restaurants in Yosemite Valley (usually crowded), but you can also bring a packed lunch and drink.

### I’m traveling with a child; do I need to bring a child seat?

For your child’s safety, all vehicle tours require child safety seats or a booster for every child under eight (8) years of age or 4′ 9″ in height. If you need assistance arranging for a safety seat, please leave a comment in the “Have Special Needs?” section when booking your reservation.

### How will we recognize the vehicle?

All of the tour vehicles are marked "Extranomical Tours". Your guide will have your name and announce the arrival of the vehicle at your pick-up location.

### Is the Yosemite and Giant Sequoias Day Tour from San Francisco offered in different languages?

The Yosemite and Giant Sequoias Day Tour from San Francisco has live narration in English, but there are also complimentary recorded audio guides in 8 languages, including Spanish, French, German, Italian, Korean, Mandarin, Japanese and Portuguese. Please leave a comment in the “Have Special Needs?” section when booking your reservation if you require this audio guide, and please specify the language.

### Can I leave my personal belongings on the vehicle during the tour?

Best not to leave your valuables like purses, cameras, and computers on the vehicle while stepping off of the tour vehicle at any attraction—the tour guide will not be responsible for your belongings.

## Reviews

> "Our driver was fantastic – well informed and very friendly. The stops at Tunnel View and the Tuolumne Grove were incredible. Spending over five hours in Yosemite Valley gave us enough time to explore and take some wonderful photos. I highly recommend this tour for anyone wanting to experience Yosemite's highlights in one day."
